Job Description:
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Facilities Buyer to support facilities operations, maintenance activities, and capital improvement projects. This position is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, contracting, and managing suppliers that provide facility-related goods and services across multiple sites. The ideal candidate will have strong procurement experience in facilities, MRO, construction, manufacturing, or real estate environments and possess excellent supplier management and contract negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement activities supporting facilities operations, maintenance, and capital improvement projects.
  • Source and qualify suppliers for facilities-related categories including MRO, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, janitorial, landscaping, building services, and capital equipment.
  • Develop and issue RFQs, RFPs, and supplier solicitations while performing pricing and cost analyses.
  • Negotiate supplier pricing, terms, service agreements, maintenance contracts, and long-term agreements (LTAs).
  • Manage the full procurement lifecycle from requisition creation through purchase order issuance, invoice resolution, and final payment.
  • Lead supplier performance reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with facilities, engineering, operations, finance, and project teams to support business objectives.
  • Ensure materials, equipment, and services are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality and safety requirements.
  • Support construction contracts, facility upgrades, renovation projects, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Maintain procurement metrics and identify opportunities for cost savings and process efficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, FAR requirements, ITAR/EAR regulations, and supplier qualification standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supplier management experience.
  • Experience purchasing facilities-related goods and services such as:
    • HVAC
    • Electrical
    • Plumbing
    • Janitorial services
    • Landscaping
    • MRO supplies
    • Building equipment
    • Construction services
  • Experience negotiating service agreements, maintenance contracts, construction contracts, and strategic supplier agreements.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
  • Experience managing multiple contract types including Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Time & Material (T&M), and service-based contracts.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to read and interpret statements of work, equipment specifications, and facility drawings.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and facilities compliance requirements.
  • Experience with ERP and procurement systems such as SAP, Oracle, Costpoint, Coupa, Ariba, Maximo, or CMMS platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, manufacturing, industrial, construction, or facilities organizations.
  • Working knowledge of ITAR/EAR regulations.
  • CPSM, CSCP, PMP, FMP, or CFM certification.
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Jira, SharePoint, or CMMS systems.
  • Proven success developing and managing strategic sourcing programs and long-term supplier agreements.
