Manufacturing Engineer IV / Industrial Manufacturing Project Engineer
Location: Pontiac, IL (Onsite)
Compensation: $43.00 – $47.00/hour
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer IV to support large-scale manufacturing operations focused on process optimization, capacity planning, and lean transformation initiatives. This role will serve as a technical leader driving improvements in material flow, production efficiency, workforce utilization, and overall operational performance within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and optimize manufacturing processes and material flow across the production value stream.
- Lead capacity planning initiatives to support future production demand and operational growth.
- Drive throughput improvements by reducing bottlenecks, minimizing lead times, and lowering work-in-process inventory.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement projects using structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Develop and implement value stream mapping initiatives and future-state process improvements.
- Monitor and improve key performance metrics including throughput, capacity utilization, on-time delivery, and productivity.
- Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and finance teams to support operational objectives.
- Evaluate production data and trends to identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Support digital transformation initiatives, including workflow automation, KPI digitization, and emerging manufacturing technologies.
- Create and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Develop staffing and labor utilization strategies aligned with production requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 8+ years of manufacturing, industrial, or production engineering experience.
- Strong experience with Capacity Planning and Manufacturing Operations.
- Proven Project Management experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience implementing Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of production workflows, material handling, process optimization, and value stream mapping.
- Experience with CAD software and engineering drawings.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Experience utilizing data analytics to drive operational improvements.
- Leadership experience guiding teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Power Apps or workflow automation tools.
- MODAPTS certification.
- Knowledge of AI-enabled tools and technologies.
- Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing operations.
