About the Role:

We are seeking a Safety Specialist to support workplace health, safety, and regulatory compliance within a fast-paced operations environment. This individual will play a critical role in promoting a strong safety culture, conducting audits and inspections, investigating incidents, maintaining compliance documentation, and partnering with operations teams to identify and mitigate workplace risks.

The ideal candidate is passionate about safety, comfortable working directly with employees and leadership, and experienced in applying OSHA regulations within industrial, warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, or similar environments.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety audits and inspections.
  • Identify compliance gaps, workplace hazards, and opportunities for safety improvement.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, and near-miss events and assist with corrective action plans.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Enter and manage information within internal databases and reporting systems.
  • Provide safety training and guidance to employees, supervisors, and operational leaders.
  • Perform workplace observations and behavioral safety assessments.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives focused on reducing risk and improving safety performance.
  • Support programs related to emergency response, fire prevention, hazardous waste management, and other safety-related activities as required.
  • Partner with leadership to ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field OR
  • Minimum of 1+ year of experience in an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) role.
  • Experience working with OSHA regulations, specifically OSHA 29 CFR 1910 standards.
  • Professional experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience handling confidential workplace, personnel, or safety-related information.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including days, nights, and weekends.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) experience
  • OSHA compliance knowledge, particularly OSHA 29 CFR 1910
  • Safety audit and inspection experience
  • Incident investigation and root cause analysis
  • Safety training and employee engagement
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to influence and communicate with all levels of an organization
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations

Preferred Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a safety-related discipline
  • Experience in warehouse, fulfillment, distribution, manufacturing, industrial, or logistics environments
  • Leadership or team management experience
  • Workers’ Compensation case management experience
  • Emergency response training or certifications
  • Experience performing job hazard analyses and risk assessments
  • Knowledge of fire prevention and hazardous waste programs
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Demonstrated passion for workplace safety and continuous improvement
