Summary
Our client is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer 2 to support supplier development and quality initiatives for new technology programs within a large-scale manufacturing environment.
This role is ideal for an engineer with hands-on experience in supplier quality, manufacturing standards, and production readiness who enjoys collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, and supplier partners.
The Supplier Development Engineer will play a key role in supporting Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities, supplier evaluations, and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) deliverables to ensure parts are delivered at the right quality, cost, and timeline.
This is a strong opportunity to gain experience supporting new technology development programs while working closely with suppliers and internal engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Development & Quality Support
- Manage APQP and quality-related activities from concept through PPAP
- Support engineering and suppliers to design manufacturable parts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, supply chain, packaging, and logistics
- Follow up with suppliers on RFQs, quality deliverables, and timelines
- Support supplier development activities for new technology programs
Manufacturing & Supplier Collaboration
- Evaluate supplier manufacturing readiness and quality performance
- Apply manufacturing standards and procedures to supplier processes
- Support supplier evaluation and certification activities
- Participate in supplier meetings, reviews, and occasional site visits (up to 25% travel)
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required (Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain preferred)
- 4+ years of relevant experience (2+ years with a Master’s degree may be considered)
- Experience supporting supplier quality or manufacturing-related programs

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience working with suppliers in a manufacturing environment
